As part of iBET’s People Development programme, iBET organised a 2-day intensive course on “Effective Communication Skills”. This course was addressed to iBET collaborators with the main goal of providing them with tools to improve their public communication competencies.
Eleven iBET collaborators had the oportunity to practice and receive one-to-one feedback on their communication skills as well as learn how to communicate more effectively with various stakeholders.
On completing the course, the participants gained an array of competencies to apply both before and during a presentation, such as vocal and facial warm-up, improvisation and storytelling techniques.
“These skills will be extremely valuable to improve the communication effectiveness of iBET collaborators while improving their confidence when facing unforeseen situations.”, says Teresa Cumbre, responsible for People Development activities at iBET.
This training course is inspired in actors’ daily practice and it is heavily based on practical and dynamic hands-on exercises. The course is facilitated by Ângela Marçal (coach) and Luís Moreira (actor and teacher) from Way Beyond.
iBET’s People Development programme invests in improving transversal skills of iBET collaborators, by organising a variety of training courses. For example, on December 2018, collaborators participated in a course on Project Management.
