From January 22 to 24, students pursuing their PhD at iBET presented and discussed their ongoing PhD projects at the 10th ITQB NOVA PhD Students’ Meeting.
Along these three days, students’ presentations were distributed by sessions according to their PhD projects area: The Code of Life, Host-Pathogen Biology, Molecular Machines, Chemistry in Action, Plant Sciences, Microbial Strategies, Molecular Medicine and Biotech Advances.
In addition to our PhD students’ presentations, iBET researchers Ana Sofia Fernandes and Miguel Guerreiro were Chairs of the Biotech Advances Session and Maria João Sebastião and Pedro Sousa were Chairs of the Molecular Medicine Session.
Oral Presentations by iBET PhD Students:
- Structural and Biochemical insights into R2TP complex – Paulo Espírito Santo (SBDD – Molecular Biophysics Lab)
- Dissecting molecular pathways involved in periderm function and differentiation – Susana Lopes (Plant Biotech – Forest Biotech)
- Treatment of surface water spiked with Aspergillus species using light-emitting diodes and photocatalytic membrane reactors – Beatriz Oliveira (Food Safety – Microbiology Unit)
- A flexible human 3D cell-based platform for Malaria drug discovery – Francisca Arez (TCA – Science & Services)
