iBET was present at the kick-off meeting of the Portuguese National Hub of EATRIS – European infrastructure for translation medicine. The meeting, hosted by Infarmed, took place in Lisbon on November 11th.
This meeting follows the recent inclusion of iBET on the EATRIS network, joining other 13 Portuguese centres. The meeting gathered delegates from the portuguese institutions that presented their profiles and relevance to the network.
Delegates from the EATRIS Coordination & Support Office were also present at the meeting. Overall, they reported that the 14 Portuguese centres have a very comprehensive offering, covering key-regions and platforms within the network.
Furthermore, delegates noted a good mix between disease-agnostic technology-oriented platforms and disease-oriented programs in the combined infrastructure, as well as the vast experience of some of the portuguese institutions in Public-Private collaboration.
Ultimately, the exchange of information provided by this meeting was very helpful in defining common goals in advancing translational medicine on an European level.
