Food bioactives present in watercress and broccoli extracts can have a protective role towards prevention and treatment of coloretal cancer. This is one of the conclusions of an ongoing project in collaboration with IPOLFG (Colon Pathology Study Group) and Vitacress.
The knowledge generated from this research provides important insights regarding the molecular mechanisms by which food bioactive compounds could prevent colorectal cancer. This will hopefully stregthen the design of nutritional intervention studies for cancer treatment.
