A delegation from the National Science Foundation (NSF) will be visiting iBET on the next 4th of March. The objective of this visit is to evaluate the practices of R&D in the area of biopharmaceuticals (vaccines to recombinant proteins, gene and cell therapy regenerative medicine). Following iBET, the mission will proceed to visit ITQB, GenIbet, Instituto Superior Técnico, Cell2B and ECBio, which alongside iBET were selected as centers of excellence for R&D in this area.
Given the weight of the NSF, and the value assigned to the public report that will result from this visit, FCT – the main public funding agency for R&D in Portugal – and INFARMED and APIFARMA for their role in the regulation and production of pharmaceuticals will also be present.
