iBET laboratories participated in the national event “A Terra Treme” organized every year by Autoridade Nacional de Emergência e Proteção Civil. This year, the simulation was scheduled for November 15th, at 11:15 am.
This is a national exercise that aims to increase awareness of the earthquake risk here in Portugal, a country prone to earthquakes, as many areas of the globe. In 2018, over 680 000 people participated in this event.
In this big national event, that lasts for about one minute, the participants were invited to think and act like they are on the middle of an earthquake and were reminded to “Drop, Cover and Hold On”. Earthquake Safety is a global concern, expressed with several similar events taking place outside Portugal, namely “ShakeOut“.
