Hugo Soares

Hugo Soares is Head of External Affairs at iBET. Daily activities include promotion of iBET science and values. As responsible for external affairs, Hugo coordinates the implementation of corporate communication and image strategies and mediates the communication between iBET and external partners. Hugo is also involved in managing major institutional projects and in the implementation of iBET Business Development strategy.

Hugo Soares graduated in Biology from the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade de Coimbra in 2007 and holds a PhD in Biotechnology from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2018). Hugo research background includes the development of three major classes of biopharmaceuticals: vaccines, gene therapy vectors and monoclonal antibodies. As a result, Hugo developed a wide vision of the needs of the different products from idealization to pre-clinical development and the ability to communicate efficiently with different audiences.
