Lara Silva is a Senior Scientist and Head of Operations at iBET.
Lara Silva graduated in Cellular and Molecular Biology at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2007), and holds a PhD in Biomedicine from Faculdade de Medicina, Universidade do Porto (2014).
The area of expertise has been the Glycobiology and Oncobiology fields. She did her PhD studies mainly at the Copenhagen Center for Glycomics, Denmark, and part at IPATIMUP, Porto, Portugal. Her PhD contributed to a better characterization of the glycosylation profile of the CA125 biomarker for development of new biomarker assays in the ovarian cancer setting. In 2016, she joined the Animal Cell Technology Unit at IBET/ITQB-NOVA and in the end of 2018 she joined the Analytical Services at IBET as Head of Operations.
